Train fans have some extra special news to look forward to this week as the world-famous no.45231 Sherwood Forester is visiting London. 

Taking place on Thursday, July 14, the historic steam train will make its journey from London Victoria station all the way to the sunny seaside town of Southampton. 

The journey will take passengers through iconic scenery from Grosvenor Bridge over the River Thames, and Battersea Power Station and will chug towards the green rolling hills of Hampshire along the South West Main Line. 

With four stops along the way including Winchester, passengers have the choice to depart and explore the city with its regal architecture from Elizabethan to Regency buildings as well as its quirky narrow streets and charming river. 

Or you can stay aboard until Southampton were you will get the chance to explore the SeaCity Museum, the City Art Gallery or the Solent Sky Museum and much much more. 

Plus, all passengers even get to receive a one-of-a-kind souvenir booklet that shows details of the route and has all the information you need from the day.

The iconic steam train sets of from London Victoria at 8.45am and is set to return in the evening at 21.57pm.

Tickets for the Sherwood Forester: 

Ticket prices start at £99 for Premium Standard and rise to £249 for Pullman Style Dining. 

In between the two prices, there is also Premier Dining for £199.
