A Croydon woman has been jailed for five years and a half years after killing a man in a hit and run.

Loislane Annon, 34, of London Road, Croydon pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

On April 14, 2020, at around 7.30pm Annon hit a pedestrian on Portland Road with her black BMW.

Annon fled the scene in her car before abandoning the BMW.

She was later arrested and charged after investigations by police The pedestrian, 38-year-old Vasile-Florin Olteanu, died at the scene despite efforts from emergency services.

Annon was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court to five and a half years in jail today and also banned from driving for eight years.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “A woman has been jailed for five and a half years for causing death by dangerous driving in South Norwood.

“Loislane Annon, 34 (18.10.87) of London Road, Croydon pleaded guilty, and was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, 24 June.

“She was also banned from driving for eight years.

“At around 07:30hrs on 14 April 2020, Annon’s black BMW collided with a pedestrian on Portland Road, SE25.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, 38-year-old Vasile-Florin Olteanu, died at the scene.

“Annon drove away from the scene prior to police arrival and abandoned the vehicle.

“She was arrested and charged following an investigation by officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command.”
