Amy Winehouse was put on a drip during a night in hospital, her dad has confirmed.

Mitch Winehouse told BBC radio station 1Xtra it was necessary "to rehydrate her after she'd been vomiting" as part of her treatment for drug addiction.

Cabbie Mitch said Amy was admitted to rehab last month but was moved to hospital as there were not sufficient medical facilities at her clinic.

"Everything is going according to plan and she's perfectly okay," he said.

The singer, who is now back in rehab, agreed to receive treatment after she was filmed allegedly smoking a crack pipe.

It is unclear if Amy will attend the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 10. The former Brit School student has been nominated for six gongs.
