Crystal Palace cleared the decks on transfer deadline day as four fringe players were shown the exit door at Selhurst Park, writes Simon Fitzjohn.
David Martin was the high profile mover with the winger, who made 15 appearances for the Eagles, signing for League One Millwall in a £50,000 deal that could rise to £100,000 dependent on appearances.
Besian Idrizaj's turbulent loan spell at the club came to an unceremonious end, with Palace terminating the deal and shipping the player back to Liverpool.
Contracts were also cancelled for Stuart Green, who made 27 appearances for Palace since joining in August 2006, and 19-year-old Charlie Sheringham.
Sheringham, son of ex-England international Teddy Sheringham, is now faced with the prospect of finding his sixth club after previous unsuccessful spells at Millwall, Tottenham, Ipswich and Charlton.
