Elmbridge detectives have issued an e-fit of a man they are hunting following an attempted burglary in Weybridge.

A 33-year-old mum who confronted the men was left shaken after the incident last Monday between 10.20am and 10.44am in Brooklands Road.

The men, who are thought to have tried to break into garden sheds in the road, initially ran off after being confronted.

But one of the men then returned to argue with her.

He began to approach the woman but when he noticed her two-year-old baby sitting in the victim's car he ran off.

The burglars were last seen running down St George's Hill, Weybridge but a police search including the Surrey Police helicopter could not find them.

The men were driving a red Mazda Coupe which was later recovered.

Detective Steve Whitby, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a cowardly incident where three suspects have attempted to break into sheds and then returned to the scene purely to intimidate the victim.

"I am urging the public not to allow these men to get away with this type of unacceptable behaviour."
