Three people have landed a hefty fine after breaching Covid rules at a McDonald's restaurant in Croydon.

Anderson Harrison, 22, Lily Foster, 22, and Jamie Nordin, 20, have been found guilty of participating in a gathering on March 10, 2021.

London was under Tier 4 restrictions at the time, which saw people only allowed to leave home for essential purposes, such as to buy food and medical supplies, or for daily exercise.

The gatherings each consisted of more than two people and were in a public outdoor place at a McDonald's restaurant in Purley Way.

The verdicts were proved in Single Justice Procedure hearings at Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 2, 2022.

Harrison, of Glebe Way in West Wickham, and Foster, of Ainsdale Close in Orpington, were ordered to pay £1,310 each for the offence.

This includes a £1,100 fine, £110 to fund victim services and costs of £100.

Nordin, of Orchard Way in Croydon, admitted the offence and was ordered to pay £502.

This includes a £375 fine, £37 to fund victim services and costs of £90.

They all must pay the fines by March 30, 2022.
