CROYDON COUNCIL PROPOSED FREE LIMITED TIME PARKING BAYS IN MITCHAM ROAD, CROYDON AND WOODSIDE GREEN, WOODSIDE

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make a Traffic Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to designate 5 limited time free parking bays in Mitcham Road, opposite Nos.565 to 577 Mitcham Road and 3 limited time free parking bays in Woodside Green, outside Nos.49 to 57 Woodside Green, and to provide that the parking bays would be in operation between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday inclusive and to restrict to 1 hour any one period of waiting in the parking places and to prohibit the return to the same parking places of the same vehicle for a period of two hours.

3. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed Order relates can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, "One Stop" Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.

5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Environment, Culture and Public Protection Department, 9th Floor, South-West Side, Taberner House, Croydon, CR9 1EN quoting the reference ECPP/PS/JGH/7/B52 by 20 February 2008.

6. The proposed Order is intended to introduce 5 limited time free parking bays in Mitcham Road, Croydon and 3 limited time free parking bays in Woodside Green, South Norwood. The bays would operate between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Saturday inclusive and would be limited to a 1 hour stay with no return in 2 hours. These should help improve parking for businesses by providing a turn-over in parking space.
