A huge tree has fallen on a house in Sutton as Storm Eunice batters the UK.

It comes as the Met Office has issued a red weather warning for wind across London.

The tree can be seen resting on the front of the house, after having been blown from the ground in the storm.

It has completely broken from the bottom and is lying horizontally.

The pavement has been taped off around the house.

Graham Hodson, who took the photos, has said that no one was harmed and that the elderly resident who lives in the house is being looking after by neighbours.

Sadiq Khan has told Londoners to stay at home, while the London Underground is facing major delays and closures.

Rail companies have advised passengers not to travel, and anyone driving today has been issued with an urgent warning.
