PALACE have been linked with a move to sign Liverpool and Premier League veteran James Milner in the summer.

The midfielder is a legend of the league having made 580 appearances in the competition since 2002.

Milner has scored 55 goals and assisted 87 during this period and has won the Premier League twice with Manchester City and once with Liverpool.

The 36-year-old's contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season and he will be free to leave the club for what could be his final contract before retiring.

Milner still has an ambition to play in the Premier League and Palace are among the Premier League sides interested in his signature according to Fichajes.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep hold of the midfielder and hopes that he signs a one-year extension to stay at Anfield.

However, Milner could want to cement some more regular playtime before hanging up his boots as his time on the pitch with the Reds has started to decrease.

Palace will likely be on the lookout for reinforcements should Conor Gallagher not stay at the club past the end of his loan spell from Chelsea and Milner could be seen as a temporary fix.

With Patrick Vieira introducing younger players into the team such as Michel Olise and Milner could provide some good experience to help guide them.
