ALAN Shearer has named Palace loan star Conor Gallagher in his team of the season so far.

Gallagher joined the club in the summer on loan from Chelsea and has proved to be one of the best all round midfielders in the Premier League this season.

The 21-year-old has been able to protect Palace's defence with his defensive work rate as well as being a constant threat going forward.

With six goals in 17 Premier League appearances Gallagher has been one of the main reasons behind Palace's solid first half of the season.

Due to this form, the former Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle striker has given Gallagher a spot in his team o the season so far.

Shearer said: "He has been a main driving force in that Crystal Palace team.

"Everyone, I think has been impressed with the way that he has played."

The midfielder was named alongside Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ruben Dias, Antonio Rudiger, Joao Cancelo, Decland Rice, Bernardo Silva, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Phil Foden.

Manager Patrick Vieira will be hoping that he can convince Gallagher to stay at the club past his current loan deal.
