A MAN has been arrested as part of an investigation into an incident in Leigh.
Essex Police's Operational Support Group (OSG) arrested the 26-year-old man on suspicion of assault by penetration in relation to an incident in October.
The team had been working with the force's Adult Sexual Assault Investigation Team in Southend at the time.
The OSG said officers continue to tackle people suspected of causing serious violence and harm in our communities.
Chief Inspector Darren Deex, who leads the OSG, said: “My officers will continue to be out across the county each and every day, keeping you safe and catching criminals.
“My officers work around Essex, supporting different teams providing high visibility patrols, carrying out warrants, and making arrests.
“We’ll continue working with our partners to keep Essex safe.”
