A yellow weather warning is in place across London today as Storm Barra winds batter the capital.

The warning was issued from 9am until 11.59pm today.

It covers the vast majority of the UK, including London, with Scotland also having been issued with a snow warning.

Gusts of 45 to 50mph are expected across the UK with even stronger winds in coastal areas, the Met Office has warned.

The Met Office said there is potential for travel disruption in some places, and said to expect delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.

Some short term loss of power and other services is also possible.

What to expect during Storm Barra in London in full:

Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely

Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer

Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
