Police are on the hunt for four people they want to speak to after a burglary in Carshalton left a man with life-changing injuries.

At around 12.30am on August 14, the victim - aged in his 30s - was with friends inside a house in William Street.

Four men reportedly entered and demanded money.

Two of the men were armed with a knife and another with a bottle containing noxious liquid.

The liquid was sprayed into the victim's eyes - causing him to be left with limited vision in one of his eyes.

The group stole approximately £12,000 from a safe at the house before leaving the scene.

The incident was reported to police later the same day and officers begun an investigation, which included recovering CCTV from the area.

PC Scott Springall, from the local policing team in south London, said: "This incident had had a huge impact on the victim and his family.

"Not only has his eyesight been damaged, but he also continues to suffer with the psychological consequences of the attack and is coming to terms with losing his savings.

"We have already carried out extensive enquiries and are now in a position to release CCTV of four people we would like to speak to.

"I am asking members of the public to do the right thing and provide any information that can help us track down those responsible."
