Police are hunting for three men linked with a terrifying road rage episode in Esher earlier this month.

The incident, which reportedly ended in an assault on the victims, began on the M25 and A3 around 3.40pm on Thursday, November 18.

Police said those targeted saw a blue Volkswagen van "driving dangerously in the area".

Soon afterwards, somewhere on the A3, a passenger of the Volkswagen van reportedly "threw two golf balls at the victim’s van and followed them towards Esher".

The two vehicles eventually came to a stop at the traffic lights on Claremont Lane, at the junction with Esher High Street.

Police described what happened next:

"At the traffic lights on the junction of Claremont Lane and Esher High Street, three men got out of the blue Volkswagen van and assaulted the two occupants of the other van. One of victims suffered several broken teeth," a spokesperson said.

A witness appeal has since been launched, with descriptions of the suspects released by those investigating:

  • The driver of the blue Volkswagen van is described as White, 6ft tall, with dark hair and stubble. He was wearing black frame glasses, a pink jumper and dark trousers.

  • The third suspect is described as White, under 6ft tall, with dark hair and dark stubble. He was wearing a grey jacket.
