A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Croydon.
Police were called at around 4.20am on Sunday, November 7 to a crash between a car and a pedestrian in Long Lane.
Officers and ambulance crews attended.
A 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and grievous bodily harm.
Enquiries are ongoing.
The road was closed until midday on Sunday according to local residents.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at approximately 04:20hrs on Sunday, 7 November to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Long Lane, Croydon.
"Officers and London Ambulance attended.
"An 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
"A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and grievous bodily harm.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
