A woman who survived a brain tumour as a child is now using her baking skills to help fundraise for the NHS hospital that helped treat her.

Alice Marples was treated for a brain tumour as a child at the Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH) and relapsed a few years later.

Thanks to her treatment at the cancer specialist hospital she has since been in remission for the last ten years, and the 23-year-old is now putting her skills to good use to fundraise for the new Oak Cancer Centre that is due to open in Sutton in November 2022.

Alice joined one of RMH's Marsden Morning's this Friday (October 22) that are still raising money to improve cancer support at the hospital and its future centre in Sutton.

"It is really important for me to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity’s Marsden Morning as it supports the hospital’s work in improving the lives of patients. Throughout my treatment it was so easy to see what an impact the Charity had on the hospital. The hospital is always looking a new-ways to improve treatments and make patients’ lives a little easier," Alice said.

The Marsden Morning project is an opportunity for people to get together with friends, family or colleagues to eat cake, get crafting or play some games and raise vital fund for the hospital’s new Oak Cancer Centre.

"Marsden Morning is such an easy way to raise money for a worthwhile cause and have fun with friends and family," Alice added.
