The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in London today (Sunday).

London has seen some heavy rain over the past month, with incidences of flooding and disruption to transport.

The Met Office has warned that this could be the case again today, and here's what to expect:

  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some building

Forecast in full:

Sunday: A dry start in the east, but cloud and outbreaks of persistent, occasionally heavy rain spreading from the west to all parts through the morning. Persistent rain easing in the afternoon, with slow moving, heavy downpours then developing. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Sunday night: Showers, perhaps heavy at times, persisting in the east into the evening, then easing overnight. Staying cloudy across much of the region through to dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday: A generally dull morning on Monday, with some patchy rain. Drier by the afternoon, but mainly cloudy with limited brighter spells later in the day. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Dry and bright Tuesday with plenty of sunny spells. Turning breezy overnight into Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain through the day. Breezy but mainly dry Thursday.
