Kingston resident Tyler, who saw the extensive police presence in Kingston on Saturday morning told the Surrey Comet:

"I heard of the news this morning I went into Town to grab some breakfast and was shocked at the amount of crime scenes that were in Kingston town centre.

"The bus station was completely sealed off and tents erected. Kingston just doesn’t feel like the safe place that it used to be anymore."

London Ambulance Service (LAS) meanwhile confirmed their attendance, saying they had been called to Wheatfield Way. A spokesperson told the Surrey Comet:

"We were called at 3:52am this morning (21 August) to Wheatfield Way, Kingston Upon Thames, to reports of a stabbing.

"We sent an incident response officer, a medic in a response car and an ambulance crew to the scene. We also dispatched an advanced trauma team by car from London's Air Ambulance.

"We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre."
