A woman was taken to hospital after she was reportedly hit by a car in Purley on Sunday morning (August 1).
The crash happened around 10.30am on Sunday morning in Purley Way, with emergency services called soon afterwards in response to reports of a crash "involving a car and a pedestrian".
Images taken at the scene showed a significant emergency services presence and police cordon in the area, with an air ambulance seen landing nearby.
Responding to a request from the Croydon Guardian, a spokesperson for London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed further details of the crash, and said that a woman had been taken to hospital "as a priority".
"We were called at 10.44am yesterday (1 August) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Purley Way, Croydon.
"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer, a clinical team leader, and an advanced paramedic. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.
"A woman was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital as a priority," the LAS spokesperson said.
The Met Police meanwhile said they were awaiting an update on the woman's condition.
A spokesperson said:
"Police were called at 1048hrs on Sunday, 1 August, to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the Purley Way in Croydon.
"Officers attended along with LAS and London’s Air Ambulance.
"The pedestrian (no further details) was taken to hospital. We await an assessment of their condition."
