A man is being treated for a "potentially life-changing condition" following a crash with a bus in Wallington.

Emergency services were called to reports of a traffic collision on Croydon Road shortly before 10 am on Thursday ( July 29).

Firefighters were called to the scene and rescued a man from a car.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.11am yesterday (July 29) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus and a van.

"We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a clinical team leader, a medic in a car, and our hazardous area response teams.

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"Two people were treated at the scene and both were taken to a hospital."

A spokesperson for Met Police said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 10.13am to reports of a collision at Croydon Road, Beddington.

"Officers and LAS and London Fire Brigade [LFB] attended.

"At the scene two vehicles, a single-decker bus and a Hyundai had been in collision.

"One man was taken by LAS to a south London hospital.

"His condition is being treated as potentially life-changing."
