How Palace fared against the Hornets.
Scott Flinders - Could have maybe done better for Shittu's second, but apart from the goals had virtually nothing to do. 6.
Lee Hills - Tentative first-half but grew into the game. 6.
Matt Lawrence - Defended well but his distribution could have been better. 6.
Jose Fonte - Done all the simple things well. Forced off with concussion towards the end. 6.
Mark Hudson - Singled out for criticism by boss for both goals - but Shittu is a very had man to stop. 6.
Ben Watson - Caused a few problems with his set pieces but struggled to get into the game. 6.
John Bostock - Looked nervy but showed glimpses of why he is touted as the next big thing. 6.
Carl Flecther - Covered every blade of grass. Industrious display. Man of the match. 7.
Shaun Scannell - His forward running and pace worried Watford back-four. 7.
Clinton Morrison - Didn't have a sniff but general play was good. 6.
James Scowcroft - Led the line well and ran everything down. 6.
Subs.
Victor Moses (replaced Bostock, 61) - Looked dangerous. Surely only a matter of time before he becomes a major part of Warnock's plans. 6.
Ryan Hall (replaced Morrison, 73) - Looked nervous and gave the ball away too many times. 5.
Clint Hill (replaced Fonte, 80) - Settled in at centre-back with minimum fuss.
