A Crystal Palace vandal is painting over yellow lines on a street corner in an effort to gain free parking.
The individual has been blackening out a stretch of double yellows on Livingstone Road over the last year, even painting their own parking space.
Mr Rubaine, a 55-year-old chef who lives on the road, captured footage of the painter’s work a week ago.
He said: “I think it’s been going on for well over a year.
“Basically, a guy started painting his own parking bay.
“Then it was painted black to resemble the tarmac.
“This process was repeated at least 3 times.
“He’s even been issued with parking fines, but that hasn’t stopped him.
“Then the corner kerb was painted with double yellow lines and someone has painted them black, hence the repainting.”
Painting over road markings is an offence for which the individual would face prosecution if he is identified.
The council has undone his work on previous occasions, but the stubborn painter defiantly repeats the process.
Croydon Council has been contacted for comment.
