The number of people aged 50 and over in England who have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been estimated in new data.

The figures, broken down by local authority, are based on provisional data from NHS England for vaccinations up to March 28, and use population figures from the Office for National Statistics which are the best publicly available official estimates.

In south London and the surrounding areas, Epsom and Ewell had the highest figure with 93.9 per cent of people aged 50 and over in the borough estimated to have been given the jab. This means 28,394 people in the area have had their first dose of the vaccine

But in terms of volume, Bromley was one of only two boroughs, the other being Croydon, to have vaccinated more than 100,000 people aged over 50 - leading the table with 112,842 jabs.

Lewisham had the lowest figure with 80.8 per cent (63,216 people) having received their first jab.
