A public appeal has ramped up in the search for a teenage girl missing from Tooting in Wandsworth.

Police said they believed 17-year-old Tia Fairman may have travelled to Edinburgh as they appealed to the general public to help them in their search.

Tweeting a picture of Tia alongside their appeal, Wandsworth Police said on Friday (January 8):

"Can you help find Tia Fairman, 17, missing from Tooting, Wandsworth? She may have travelled to Edinburgh. Tia is 5ft6” and last seen wearing black leans, lilac top, black fur jacket and green/purple trainers.

"Please call 101 quote 21MIS000733 with info."

In a later update posted Sunday (January 10), police renewed their appeal and confirmed that Tia was still missing:

"Tia is still #missing. Please continue to share our appeal.

"We want to make sure she is safe and well," a spokesperson for the borough police force said.
