Two teenagers have been arrested following a series of robberies reported by school children over the past two weeks.
The two suspects, who were working in a group, had threatened students with violence and demanded that they hand over phones, ear pods, cash and cards.
On December 16, police were called to reports of a robbery outside of Wimbledon Station, at around 4.30 pm.
An emergency response team arrived at the scene and circulated descriptions of the three suspects.
Dundonald, Hillside and Wimbledon Town Centre Neighbourhood teams were out on foot and were aware that, on previous occasions, the suspects have gone towards Dundonald Tram Stop.
The teams headed to Dundonald Tram Stop and found two young males who matched the descriptions.
Both males were apprehended and arrested for the offence of Robbery.
The investigation involved the partnership of school officers, Merton Council and British Transport Police. The partnership included intelligence research around the suspects, directed patrols in specific locations and times.
Both males have since been released on bail. The investigation is ongoing.
