A BUSY McDonald's store in Stanway has undergone a deep clean after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
A number of staff are in self isolation after a colleague tested positive for the Covid-19 at the restaurant.
An employee at the chain’s Tollgate restaurant, in Stanway, received the positive result last week.
A McDonald’s spokesman said the employee in question immediately self-isolated and a thorough clean had immediately taken place.
He said: “As soon as we became aware, the restaurant was given an enhanced clean as a precautionary measure and we contacted all restaurant employees to inform them.
“A number of employees have been asked to self-isolate in line with government guidelines.
“We have a number of safety measures in place to help keep our people safe, including Perspex screens, temperature checks at the start of each shift, maintaining a two metre distance from others as much as possible, face coverings, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser.
Earlier this month, a deep clean was carried out at the chain's restaurant in Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, after a staff member taking part in a trial received a positive result.
