A PHARMACY in Rose Hill has raised more than £1000 for people living with a terminal illness.
MPS Pharmacy decided to launch an appeal for Marie Curie on October 13.
The thoughtful pharmacy says it was important for them to fundraise after serving patients throughout the pandemic.
Organiser Niyati Patel says the pharmacy received a lot of support during lockdown and "wanted to give back".
On top of a Go Fund Me page, the pharmacy team have organised raffles to raise money for those in need.
Patients have the chance to win a pamper hamper, a chocolate bouquet and much more.
Niyati Patel said: "We have witnessed people unable to say goodbye to their loved ones due to the current pandemic.
We deal with a number of terminally ill patients and have seen how coronavirus has affected them this year.
"It’s important for them and their families to know that there is support available and it’s a lot closer than they think.
"Raising over £1000 in under week was shocking!
"We didn’t think we would be able to reach that much at all.
"We are grateful to everyone who has donated and is taking part in our raffle organised by a member of staff at the pharmacy.
"We are going to continue raising money until Christmas with the hope of raising £1500 for Marie Curie."
Fundraising reached £1,128 at the time of publishing.
