Police have arrested a man suspected of a serious sexual assault against a woman who was reported missing in Kingston last night (Wednesday, October 21).

Images taken around noon today (Thursday, October 22) and seen by the Surrey Comet appeared to show a police cordon, tent and crime scene in place at the church, sealing off a section of the church yard that borders Market Place in the centre of Kingston.

Responding to a request for comment, a spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed that officers responded to reports of a missing woman in Kingston town centre Wednesday evening, around 7pm.
