Sutton Guardian contacted Bandon Hill Primary School Wood Field for comment.

Head Teacher Laura Rogers said: “The safety of our pupils, staff and their families is of the utmost importance.

"We have been working in collaboration with Sutton Council to adhere to the Department for Education and Public Health England guidelines.

"A member of staff tested positive on October 12. We immediately notified the Department for Education who advise schools on the actions they consider necessary based on existing Government guidance.

"In line with this guidance we have asked classes across EYFS and KS1 to self isolate for a period of 14 days.

"Pupils will be able to return on Wednesday 21st October.

"We want to reassure our pupils, parents, carers and the wider community that we will continue to be vigilant and the school has clear and strict plans to ensure safety of all including; handwashing and respiratory routines, staff and student bubbles, social distancing around the premises, including PPE donning where social distancing isn’t possible or could be compromised.

"We will continue to keep parents and carers informed and up to date regarding incidents of positive cases of coronavirus identified in schools.”

There are two Bandon Hill Primary schools in the area. Please note that the reported case is located at the Stanley Park Road site.
