Landmarks will light up red tonight as part of a campaign to raise awareness for the events industry as it struggles with the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
Brighton Palace Pier and the British Airways i360 are just two of thousands of venues across the globe to light up in red as part of a global day of action.
The city’s venues were forced to close their doors in March, putting them under huge financial pressure.
The #WeMakeEvents and #LightInRed campaign claims the live events sector needs more government support if it is to survive the Covid-19 crisis.
A spokesman for the campaign said: “Without major immediate additional support from national governments, the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.
“Whilst there has been a lot of support for our industry, it has not been made available to everyone and we are working hard to raise awareness of this with both the government and the public."
