A 27-year-old man was shot outside a south London school just before children left for home yesterday.
Police were called at 3.24pm today to the scene near St James' Primary School, on Alexis Street, Bermondsey.
They found the victim suffering a gunshot wound, who was rushed to hospital by ambulance services.
His injury has since been assessed as non-life-threatening, but may be life-changing.
There were fortunately no other injuries.
A cordon remains in place at the scene, as enquiries into the circumstances continue.
Police are yet to make any arrests.
