Police are appealing for information about the actions and whereabouts of a red van after a man died from a suspected hit-and-run incident near Shepperton Saturday night (September 19).

Updating their previous appeal on Sunday (September 20), a spokesperson for Surrey Police who are investigating said that they were now tracing a red van "believed to be involved" in the man's death, which occurred at the scene on Walton Bridge Road near Shepperton.

In particular, detectives are appealing for "witnesses and dashcam footage" that could help with their inquiries into "the possibility of a fail to stop collision" i.e. a hit-and-run incident.

Sergeant Ben Grilli said Sunday evening: "We are appealing to anyone who lives in the Shepperton area and may have CCTV which could help us or anyone who was driving in the area between 6:30pm-9pm and may have any dashcam footage that could assist us to get in touch.

“We urge you to take a look at the footage and get in touch if it shows a red van.

"As well as this, if you were walking around the area and witnessed a red van, possibly driving erratically then you could really assist us with this investigation."

Two people have been arrested so far in connection to the man's death.

One has been released under investigation and the other has been released with bail conditions.
