From bespoke gift ideas to custom-made furniture, this family-run shop is providing Belmont with a range of homeware essentials.

The Good Home, on 37 Station Road, opened its doors to customers for the first time on September 5.

Run by husband and wife, Chris and Michelle, the store focuses on providing quality products and 'exceptional service' to the community.

Born out of their love for bespoke, Chris and Michelle worked hard to prepare their store in the midst of the pandemic.

Customers will be able to browse through a variety of gift options, visit the furniture showroom and discuss personalised presents for loved ones.

Your Local Guardian:

Michelle Schmitz said: “The shop opening went really well on Saturday and we’ve had some really good feedback from the community.

"People were saying Belmont has needed a shop like this for years.

She added: "Never have local businesses been more needed amongst communities.

"Covid-19 has changed the world we live in and the local community we live in has become that little bit more special.

Your Local Guardian:

"We wanted to take that sense of community and bring a shop to Belmont High Street which will enable customers to pop in and browse for a unique gift or last-minute card.

"The Good Home looks forward to welcoming customers."

During opening week The Good Home will be running a competition which all shop visitors can enter.

There is also the opportunity for customers to buy products with a 10% ‘launch discount’ in the first month of trading.

Opening times are as follows:

Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5pm

Saturday 9am – 1pm

Sunday - closed
