A mother and daughter hosted a concert in aid of London Zoo last week.
Karla Oakes, 35, and Jan Oakes, 55, hosted a social distancing concert in a bid to raise funds for London Zoo, on August 21.
The fundraising mission comes after ZSL Director Dominic Jermey, previously announced that the zoo is under "immense financial pressure" after closing due to the pandemic.
He said: "Our zoos may have been able to reopen their gates, but with strict social distancing measures and heavily restricted visitor numbers we have no way of recouping what was lost.
"After being closed for so many months, reopening will by no means be an instant fix.
"As an international conservation charity which relies heavily on zoo ticket sales to fund our vital work, we will still urgently need support to keep our two zoos running smoothly.
"We’re fighting our biggest challenge in our 200-year history."
Speaking on her fundraiser, Karla Oaks said: "I love animals and they are a vital part of life.
"When I heard that they may get put down because of funding during the pandemic I felt action needed to be taken and I want to do what I can to help save these beautiful animals.
"These times are very scary not just for humans but for our animals which is why fundraising is more important than it ever has been."
Karla and Jan hope to reach £1000 before they close their fundraiser.
