A young man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and possessing a gun after a police chase through the streets of Sutton earlier today (August 14), with help from police helicopter.
Met Police said that at around 4:35pm, Friday August 14, they tried to stop a car on Croydon Road in Sutton, south west London.
The vehicle failed to stop, and officers began an authorised pursuit through Sutton, with assistance from the National Police Air Service.
Police said the car was later found in Green Wrythe Lane.
With the help of the police helicopter, officers carried out a search of the area and locate a 20-year-old male.
The man was been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm.
Police say enquiries into the incident continue.
