A DRUGS thug attacked a police officer and caused damage inside a police car.
Jon Paul Healey had been arrested over an incident in Brighton.
He had been found in possession of heroin and then assaulted a police officer and caused £500 damage as he was led to custody.
The 39-year-old, of Barcombe Road, Brighton, had been arrested just a fortnight before for possessing cocaine and cannabis and for handling stolen goods, namely someone’s passport.
Healey appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court where he admitted possessing the drugs, criminal damage, assaulting a PC and undertaking or assisting in the retention or disposal or removal of stolen property.
The court was told the incidents had taken place on March 7 and March 25 this year.
Magistrate Rosalind Buchan imposed a nine-month suspended prison sentence and ordered Healey to complete one-year of drug dependency treatment. He must complete 15 rehabilitation sessions and pay £45 compensation, a £149 surcharge and £100 costs.
