A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured after a car was deliberately driven into her in a late night attack.

Detectives say the woman was targeted by a blue car in Alton Gardens, Southend, at about 11.35pm last night.

After the collision, two men got out of the car and stabbed the woman in the arm with what is thought to be a screwdriver.

The pair, who were masked, then got back into the car and sped off.

The woman, who is aged in her late-teens, was treated for injuries which are not considered to be life-threatening.

Detectives say they are "keeping an open mind" as to the motive of the assault, but believe it could potentially be a targeted attacked.
