Neil Warnock will not be hurrying into contract negotiations with a quartet of Crystal Palace first-team players whose deals expire next summer.

The contracts of Mark Hudson, Danny Butterfield, Julian Speroni and Clinton Morrison are up at the end of the season - but the four have not yet signed fresh Eagles deals.

As the situation stands the four players will be allowed to enter into pre-contract negotiations with any club in January with a view to leaving Selhurst Park on a free transfer in the summer.

However, despite there being a little over a month to go before the quartet can start talking to other clubs - Warnock is taking a laid back approach to the club's contract situation.

When asked whether the players would be offered new deals, Warnock answered: "I'm not even thinking about that.

"I'm not in any rush.

"I will get round to it but there are more pressing things in my mind at the moment."

Hudson has already revealed that preliminary discussions with regards to a new deal have begun, while it is likely that Morrison and Speroni will be offered contract extensions.

But it is the future of Butterfield that remains unclear.

After starting Warnock's first game in charge against Blackpool, Butterfield missed the next five games with a hamstring injury.

He returned to first-team action on Saturday coming on as a late substitute in the victory over Colchester United - but due to Matt Lawrence's current good form, right-back Butterfield's chances to impress Warnock enough to secure a new deal could be few and far between.
