A family are appealing for information after two youths threatened to stab their son after he refused to give up his bike.
Police were called to reports of a robbery near the Pavilion in Beddington Park, at around 2.30 pm on July 20.
Two boys on bikes were approached by two suspects who demanded they hand over their bikes, threatening to stab them if they refused.
The suspects then fled the scene on the bikes.
Witnesses have described one suspect as white, possibly in his late teens.
The second suspect was described as mixed-race, with "dreadlocks down to his ears."
Eyewitnesses say both males were wearing masks and a puffer jacket and were seen in a larger group of five before they approached the two victims.
Sarah Wasbrough, the mother to the 14-year-old, said: "My son was with his friends and had already spotted the two suspects.
"But as there was only two of them, they thought it would be ok.
"They jumped out in front of them as they cycled past and grabbed his bike.
"It’s the start of the holidays and he just started to go out and have some freedom with his friends.
"Now, the freedom is gone and he feels really horrible.
"His bike is his pride of joy."
An investigation is ongoing by officers from South Area Command.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101 quoting reference 4266/20July.
