A 13-year-old boy has been left 'shaken' after being threatened by a gang wearing balaclavas.
The boy was approached by a group of 'seven to eight' youths at around 7.05 pm on Crown Road, yesterday (July 19).
Police were contacted after the group smashed the victim's phone and took off after stealing his bike and bag.
His mother, Louise Hunt said: "My son was coming home from Collingwood park and was stopped by a gang of lads on bikes.
"They took his bike, and his watch and rucksack and then broke his phone.
"It’s traumatic and he is very upset understandably."
Sutton residents have since launched and contributed to a fundraiser to help the victim replace his stolen items.
Louise Hunt added: "I went straight to social media, and the outpouring of love and support for my son has been overwhelming.
"The community has really pulled together and I can only send my heartfelt thanks to each and every person."
A spokesperson for Met Police has confirmed there have been no arrests at this time and enquiries continue.
Any witnesses or those with information are asked to call police on 101 referencing, CAD 7373/ 19 July.
