A new coffee and events space has arrived at the heart of Morden town centre.

Metronome, situated at Crown Lane, is a sustainable and ethical coffee shop which will serve customers during the day and host events during the evening.

The coffee shop emphasises on 'giving back to the community' by supporting local businesses, choosing suppliers who are vehicles for change and providing a free water point for the community.

Metronome's sister business, Crown Lane Studio also operates on-site, with the aim of providing a musical and cultural experience for Merton residents.

The coffee shop says the space and services they offer must be accessible to all- which can be seen in the design, features and events programme.

'Relaxed' events have also been organised for those living with autism and dementia, with staff receiving specialist training from Merton Dementia Hub and Autism UK.

Metronome's in-house design includes, relaxed interior, a neutral colour palette, step-free access throughout, clear signage with icons, a hearing loop and accessible toilet.

Metronome says, coffee 'shouldn't cost the earth', which is why they've sourced coffee from the Old Spike in Peckham who give meaningful employment and training to those affected by homelessness.

A spokesperson for Metronome said: "Metronome will be known for its passion for quality coffee, teas and produce, whilst remaining uncompromising in its responsibility to be ethical.

"At the core of Metronome is the desire to care for our planet - we take this very seriously.
