Man arrested after failing to escape police
A man wanted on suspicion of driving offences attempted to escape police by climbing onto a roof yesterday ( June 22 )
Officers were observing the wanted man in Hamilton Avenue in Sutton at around 8.52 pm.
The man ran off before climbing onto a roof in Gander Green Lane.
London Fire Bridge, London Ambulance Service, and National Police Air Service attended the scene.
The man remained on the roof until 10.31 pm, when he eventually climbed down and was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
He was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
