Officers from the Metropolitan Police in Croydon have charged two men seen attempting to break into a property on Verulam Avenue in Purley last week.
Last Monday (June 1), police responded to reports of a burglary on Verulam Avenue in Purley.
Around midday, two men were spotted "running from the venue after the alarm went off" a spokesperson for the borough police force posted to Twitter on Monday (June 8).
They added that the men had been armed with a knife and crowbar, and were arrested after a chase in the residential area of Purley.
"2 males were seen running from the venue after the alarm went off armed with a crow bar and a knife.
"They have now been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary," the post read.
