A teenager was arrested in Molesey yesterday night (June 2) after police dispersed a large fight in Hurst Park.
Police said a 17-year-old had been taken into custody after they arrived with many others of the "large group" reportedly fleeing the scene after their arrival.
"Around 20 police cars, from both Surrey Police and the Metropolitan Police, attended after we received a call at around 18:50.
"Once officers arrived the teenagers dispersed quickly on foot, mopeds and bicycles.
"A 17 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, and officers are keen to speak to a number of other people in connection with the incident. At this time it is not believed that anyone was seriously injured."
Police said that there were many other members of the public in the park at the time of the fight and appealed for witnesses to help them discover more about what happened.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting PR/P20127664 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
