A man was arrested after spitting at a police officer in Croydon during a reported home invasion this morning (Friday, May 22).
In a short statement posted to Twitter at 9am, Croydon MPS said they had responded to a "home invasion" in the borough earlier today.
While there, they attempted to detain a suspect who refused to comply and instead spat at one of the officers.
"Officers from #Croydon responded to a home invasion this morning.
"When officers have arrived on scene, the male was detained however refused to comply with police, which resulted in him spitting in an officers face.
"Arrested (for) Attempted Burglary, Criminal Damage and Assault," a spokesperson said.
