Since the start of the pandemic we have seen Wimbledon businesses, volunteers and organisations join forces to take action against the outbreak.

Business Improvement District, Love Wimbledon, has highlighted Wimbledon's fantastic efforts to support those in need during the outbreak.

Here is a list of some of the businesses who have gone above and beyond to assist the pandemic, by feeding the community, re-purposing their facilities and supporting the NHS.

Re-purposing Facilities

  • Firecracker Works, Dundonald Rd, an event production company, adapted their facilities to manufacture PPE for the NHS, Healthcare and Frontline workers, with a target of producing 30,000 face visors.
  • RAP, Mansel Rd, Wimbledon, turned over its production line to manufacture disposable face shields, with an ambitious goal of delivering between seven and ten million a week.

Supporting the NHS

  • Elys, St Georges Road, supplied Easter Eggs to NHS workers and textiles to Ricards Lodge to be made into kit washing bags whilst Wilko donated toiletries and cleaning products to the Dons Local Action Group.
  • Icon Solutions, St George's Road, a payment and enterprise solutions provider in the finance sector, generously contributed to Wimbledon Guild’s Covid-19 fund to enable them to continue to support the most vulnerable people in our community.
  • The Alexandra Pub near Wimbledon Station has made over 4,000 meals for the NHS, whilst Lush donated bath bombs to NHS staff working on the frontline.
