A 9-year-old and her sister have been praised for their efforts to help feed, protect and raise money for key workers in the NHS.

Lottie Cleaver, 9, and Emily Cleaver, 14, of New Malden, have been busy baking cupcakes, creating PPE and skipping for the NHS.

The dedicated sisters set themselves the challenge of 1000 skips a day each until they go back to school in honour of their family members who work for the NHS.

Oldest Emily has been using her sewing skills to create masks for a community group, 'Sewing for the Kingston' which distribute the masks to those in need.

Speaking about their skipping challenge the sisters say: "It's going well no that we are getting more into a pattern.

"Some days it can be a bit of a struggle, but we just have to keep on track and make sure we are doing it.

"We are still going strong because we know why we are doing it."

"We've raised over £1000 now- we are grateful because its a lot of money and we hope it makes an impact.

Speaking about their reasoning behind making cakes and masks, the sisters added: We want to help them however we can and we both love baking.

"It made us happy to make 48 rainbow cakes and deliver them to Kingston Hospital.
