Whilst we may all be stuck indoors this Easter holiday, Greenwich Council are encouraging families to have some fun and get creative, leading up to a virtual parade on Easter Sunday.

In fact anyone can get involved, the council are inviting kids, big kids, crafty types, fashionistas, wannabe-fashionistas and those who are just really bored to get involved.

All you need to do is have a go at making or decorating a spring themed hat.

The rules are pretty relaxed, you can use whatever you have in your house, just grab a hat and decorate it, or make one from scratch.

The council said: "Basically anything goes, as long as it goes on a head."

Once your creation is complete, get either yourself or someone you live with to model it, take a picture and post it on social media using #GreenwichParade.

You can also email in your photo to events@royalgreenwich.gov.uk, the deadline is 12 noon on Good Friday (April 10).

Greenwich Council then promises a virtual Easter parade on Sunday, showcasing the creations.

The parade will be shared on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and on the council website "so that we can all appreciate the creativity in our borough!"

"It’s simple:

  • Make or decorate your spring themed hat
  • Take a photo
  • Post it on social media using #Greenwich Parade or email to events@royalgreenwich.gov.uk by 12 noon on Good Friday (10 April)
  • Sit back and watch the parade online on Easter Sunday!"
