Croydon was named the best London Borough for 2020 in an online poll that attracted thousands of votes over the weekend.
The borough beat out the 2018 and 2019 winners Lewisham in the final vote, securing 59.5 per cent of the vote next to Lewisham's 40.5 per cent.

The mock world cup competition was set up on Twitter by a self-proclaimed "transport enthusiast" under the title World Cup of London Boroughs.
The account admin/s conduct the competition every year, randomly pitting all 32 London Boroughs in head to heads in a knock-out style tournament until one emerges victorious.

With so many Londoners staying at home to help slow the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus, thousands took part and voted in this year's competition.
In the final, a total of 19,599 votes were cast, with Croydon coming out on top as the clear winner.
