Merton Mutual aid celebrate their success after growing a responsive network of more than 2000 members in less than two weeks.
The group has helped hundreds of residents by carrying out their essential tasks such as; collecting medication and walking dogs for residents who are at high risk.
Volunteers have been working closely with several organisations, such as Merton Council, MVSC, the Dons Local Action Group and many more.
The group has had a tremendous sign up of 1300 volunteers so far and hopes to continue to help those vulnerable in the coming weeks.
Zakaria Dada, Founder of Merton Mutual Aid group, said: “I felt I couldn’t just sit at home and watch it unfold in my community.
“I had to do something to support my neighbours and I knew I wasn’t alone in wanting to help others.
“We are already making a difference locally setting up ward by ward; street by street to provide support where needed."
